Fed: Sherlock not chair of new AWS

Australia's new grower-owned wool development and promotion organisation will begin
life without one of its leaders, TONY SHERLOCK.

Mr SHERLOCK, who took over as chairman of the Australian Wool Research and Promotion
Organisation in January last year, today said he won't join the board of Australian Wool
Services.

AWS gives growers direct ownership of their leading company and comes into effect at
the beginning of 2001.

SHERLOCK says AWRAP will hand over to the new entity the strongest possible foundations
for commercialisation, growth, and tight fiscal management.

Mr SHERLOCK, who maintains a wool property in New South Wales, will continue as a director
of Australian Agricultural Innovations.
